Dinner and a movie

Image
This piece exposes the mind of someone with an eating disorder.  I utilized certain objects that speak to the idea of food portions and manipulated the photo to visually communicate a "fractured" sense of being. I overcame an eating disorder and made this piece to raise awareness about the experience. My hope is that we are kind and mindful of others as many struggle to overcome situations unfamiliar to us.

Loss is so much more than physically losing someone from the earth. It can feel like a part of you is suddenly gone, a void in your life. This image portrays emotions associated with the grieving process. The person lost is obviously not there, but sometimes you can feel them pulling at you and you can hold on to their memories to the point where they are pulling you down. Letting go can be one of the hardest things you can do when losing a person and that is the main message I wanted to convey.
